At each session members are divided into groups of similar age and ability. The aim is that there will be a maximum of five children to one trampoline bed with one coach, and where possible children will have the same coach every week. We currently run two levels of training groups: SPLATS: These sessions are run primarily for beginners (non-somersaulters) to enable them to learn in a fun and relaxed environment. The sessions are run during term times only with a friendly competition held between members at the end of each term. This enables them to get used to competing but in an environment with no pressure. SQUAD: These sessions are for our more serious members, who train at least once a week, and are looking to/or currently are, competing at national graded gala events.
There are also sessions available to adults (18+) run by Alton Sports Centre, but coached by one of our coaches. Please contact us for more details.
Sessions currently run at the following times:
Saturdays Sundays Thursdays: The purpose of the session is to
develop new moves in line with the BG recognised progressions, perfect moves which have already been mastered and
link skills to form routines. The less-experienced members will broadly
follow the BG Trampoline Awards from Badge 6 onwards. As we approach
competitions, we focus more on perfecting the execution of the routines
which the competitors will be performing e.g. straight legs, straight arms.
During sessions members are also
encouraged to do conditioning exercises to build up core muscles and stamina
which will help with their performance on the trampoline.
